Meet Your Presenter

Kelsey Henderson-Wasmund brings over 16 years of experience in early learning, specializing in supporting young children with challenging behaviors, disabilities, and the impacts of early adversity. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Human Development from Washington State University, along with certification in Early Childhood Education and an endorsement in Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health.

Kelsey began her career working directly with infants and toddlers in the foster care system, including children prenatally exposed to drugs and alcohol. This hands-on experience shaped her passion for trauma-informed care, inclusion, and relationship-based practices. After eight years in the classroom, she transitioned into consulting, where she now partners with
early learning teachers and administrators to build inclusive environments and strengthen educator confidence and skills. As a speaker and trainer, Kelsey is known for her approachable style, practical strategies, and engaging, real-world examples. She focuses on equipping educators with actionable tools they can implement immediately to support all children and foster resilient, inclusive classrooms.

Results From Real Classrooms

As usual with IMPACT courses, the education and expertise of the presenters shines through. I also love the emphasis on focusing on the behavior, its root causes and potential solutions; the child is not the problem and this training articulates that very well, while still acknowledging the challenging nature of biting incidents in an ECE program.

I am  excited to  have my lead teachers and assistants do this training during our in-service day that is coming up. I think it will help all of us in infant, toddler and preschool classes.
Director from Washington State
This course provided useful information about ages/reasons why children bite, how often this occurs and how to manage with both the children and the parents.  It is so important to help parents understand that we are working with them, partnering to help their child navigate their feelings and how they respond.
